Hi. Let me go ahead and identify myself. This is me.

No, I’ve never been to the United Kingdom.
And no, I’ve never been to South Africa. I can’t say that I’ve ever been to an actual barber shop. And though I have a family, I don’t think I even know anyone in South Africa.
However, according to people on Facebook, I am friends with a barber in the UK and my family got together in South Africa. They even have photographic evidence of me being there in these two places, places that I’ve never been to. And no, the pictures aren’t photoshopped to put me in places that I have never been.
On October 26th, 2017, I took a trip to the barber shop. And I found out about this because Menstyle, a “state registered barber,” let me know that we had a nice, long conversation.

And then on January 9th, 2018, I discovered that I was spotted in South Africa with family.

As it turns out, when you have a public facebook page that is a way of letting people know that you are a writer and as a means of sharing your work, people will tag you in things that you had no business with. It just so happens that I have a facebook page that qualifies for this mistake. It just so happens that Ethan Lee, writer, blogger, and internet person from Houston, Texas and living in Starkville, Mississippi, has been to both a barber shop in the United Kingdom and visited his long lost family in South Africa.
And here is that aforementioned photographic evidence. Let’s start with the trip to the United Kingdom that I didn’t know that I took.

As it turns out, that actually isn’t the back of my head. And unfortunately, I’ve never been to visit my good friends at Menstyle. But while that isn’t the back of my head, I do kinda like the way that the haircut turned out at the end.
Let’s check out my long lost family.

This is a very lovely family. This is not my family, but it’s a lovely one nonetheless. And that is not me in the back there. I don’t have long hair anymore, as evidenced by the haircut that I very much didn’t get back in October in England in the screenshot that I attached above this one.
However, I would love to meet this family. I know nothing about them. But they have inadvertently invited me into their lives with tagging me instead of the Ethan Lee that they might have intended to tag. And I would love to get a haircut in the UK. Even though I’m not currently a friend with the owner of Menstyle, I like to think that I could get a decently priced haircut there.
If I were to ever cross the pond and visit old friends or family that I didn’t know that I had, I would hope that they would greet me with open arms and a free haircut.
